Camera rear view
Camera rear view
Depending on the vehicle, the rear view may be shown by the camera 1.
Direct rear view by mirror remains available at all times.
The camera 1 is installed on the left-hand rear hinged door.
Make sure that the camera 1 is not obscured (by dirt, mud, snow, condensation, etc.).
When opening one of the vehicle doors, the rear view mirror 2 attached to the roof centre console shows the view behind the vehicle, transmitted
by the camera 1.
Note: the camera 1 display is transmitted only if the rear view mirror 2 is in "Screen" mode.
WARNING
This function is an additional aid. It cannot, therefore, under any circumstances
replace the vigilance or the responsibility of the driver.
The driver should always be ready for sudden incidents while driving: always ensure
that there are no small, narrow moving obstacles (such as a child, animal, pushchair,
bicycle, stone, post, etc.) in the blind spot when manoeuvring.
Adjusting the rear view mirror 2
If reflections reduce the visibility of the view transmitted by the camera, you can
adjust the rear view mirror 2 to the left, right, upwards or downwards.
Operation
The camera's field of vision does not cover the entire area behind the vehicle, especially
in the blind spot area A.
Use the lever 3 to switch between "mirror" mode and "screen" mode.
The symbol shown at the top left-hand side of the rear view mirror indicates that "screen"
mode is working properly.
Tip
Each time the vehicle is started, the function returns to the settings saved at the
last engine stop.
Switching off the function
The display switches off a few moments after the ignition is switched off.
Note: the "mirror" mode can be activated using the lever 3.
Tip
Depending on your vision, an adaptation time may be necessary to focus on the camera
view display.
Objects which appear on the edge of the door mirror 2 may be distorted.
In very bright light (snow, vehicle in sunshine, etc.), the camera view may be partially
disturbed.
In low brightness or poor weather, the image on the screen may be distorted.
Adjusting the display and the camera
Press button 4 for "Menu" to access the settings menu.
Repeatedly press the button 4 to scroll through the settings options.
Use buttons 5 and 6" to adjust the setting as desired.
Selecting the settings:
- a)
- adjusting the brightness;
- b)
- adjusting the vertical viewing angle.
Exit from the settings menu occurs automatically after approximately five seconds
if no button is pressed.
WARNING
For safety reasons, carry out any adjustments while the vehicle is stationary.
Adjust the system field of vision and the door mirrors before driving. Be sure to
adjust the central rear view mirror before switching to "screen" mode.
Special features related to the reverse gear
When the vehicle is reversing, pay attention to the images transmitted by the reversing
camera (multimedia screen 7) in addition to the information available through the rear view mirror REVERSING CAMERA as there remains a rear view blind spot.
Operating faults
When the system detects an operating fault, the bottom of the rear view mirror 2 changes to black and the symbol appears at the top left-hand side of the rear view mirror accompanied by a
message.
This may be caused by a fault affecting the camera or screen (clearness, fixed image,
delayed communication etc.).
If the black background persists, switch to "mirror" mode and consult an approved
dealer.
